The 'Smoking Ban' came into operation in the UK. Which means from smoking will no longer be allowed in 'enclosed' or 'substantially enclosed' public places, which of course includes workplaces and work or company operated vehicles.

Legislation covers vehicles which are used by more than one employee in carrying-out work duties, even if this use is at different times or only intermittently.

Any Driver taking to the road in a vehicle must comply with legislation from now on and therefore must NOT smoke in the vehicle.

Individuals will be liable to a fixed penalty of ?50 for smoking in 'smoke-free' areas and in case of court prosecution and conviction the fine could rise to ?200!
